LiDAR Surveys

What countries does Geosense have LiDAR Survey capabilities in?

Geosense Limited provides world class aerial survey services primarily to clients in Africa, Europe and Australasia.

What is the average point density for LiDAR survey projects?

The point density for LiDAR survey projects depends on the size and height of the area covered.

  • We can survey large areas using our fixed wing aircraft and, depending on the application, point densities typically range between 5 and 10 points/m².
  • Low level surveys are possible from helicopter, providing higher levels of detail and accuracy – up to 40 points/m²

What LiDAR sensors are utilised by Geosense?

Geosense provides access to the best aerial survey technology available to capture highly detailed and accurate imagery. We use the following LiDAR sensors:

  • Trimble Harrier68i (Riegl LMS 680i sensor)
  • VQ480i Sensor (Riegl VQ system)

What medium format cameras are used by Geosense?

Geosense provides access to the best aerial survey technology available to capture highly detailed and accurate imagery.   We can undertake multi-sensor mapping with medium format cameras to offer a full survey solution including the capture of LiDAR data.  We use the following medium format cameras:

  • Rollei 60megapixel camera
  • IGI DigiCam 60 megapixel camera

What is the average Ground Sample Distance (GSD) for medium format imagery integrated with LiDAR systems?

Geosense captures aerial imagery at between 5cm and 10cm resolution.
