Due to continued growth across southern Africa, Geosense has recently expanded a number of business functions with the recruitment and appointment of new team members.
We welcome Joe Billing as our Mobile Mapping Manager for Southern. Joe has been actively involved in the South African survey industry over the past 20 years and has acquired a wealth of geospatial experience in the process which ranges from conventional surveying to the specialised domain of photogrammetric and airborne LiDAR applications.
Goesnie Damon joins the team as a Geospatial Analyst. As a qualified and experienced 3D Modeler, Geosnie is an advanced MapInfo user and is skilled in both QGIS and ArcGIS for the capture and editing of 3d building features generated from satellite aerial and high-resolution satellite imagery.
Daylan Daniels also joins as geospatial Analyst and is responsible for the editing of captured data to ensure customer requirements are met on time and to a high standard. Before joining Geosense, Daylan was a rugby player and so is experienced as remaining calm under pressure.
Morné Le Roux has been appointed as IT Infrastructure Engineer for our Bellville and Centurion offices. He has 7 years’ experience in IT and his abilities cover IT Infrastructure implementation, management and maintenance.
Leebah Bessick joins Geosense as Bookkeeper/Accounts Clark, with 15 years bookkeeping experience, the last 5 in the mining sector, Leebah will be supporting the Finance Team with customer invoicing and reconciliations.
As Office Receptionist and Administrator, new staff member Liezel Louw is the face and voice of Geosense, providing a warm hello to all visitors and callers plus much welcomed admin support across the business.
Our previous admin assistant, Natasha Gupite is now Sales and Marketing Assistant at Geosense. Natasha will be supporting our sales personnel with customer liaison, plus will enjoy daily interaction with Geosense operations, global marketing and finance teams.
We welcome Maxwell Ncwane as Business Development Consultant for our sister company in South Africa, Promap (wwww.prompa.co.za). Maxwell has a wealth of experience within the aerial survey and geospatial sector including positions with Fugro Maps and ESRI. Maxwell will be a point of contact for existing customers plus he will be supporting Promap’s growth plans in generating new business opportunities.
And finally, we welcome a new pilot, Willie De Winnaar. Willie has been flying since 2008 and has amassed 670 flying hours as a private and commercial pilot and also a flight instructor. Willie will be undertaking aerial imagery and airborne LiDAR surveys using our Piper Cherokee Six (PA32) aircraft and is in the process of obtaining his Cessna 402 rating in order to operate that aircraft as well. His outlook on life - if your career is doing something that you love, you will never have to work a day in your life. We couldn’t agree more!
