Geosense's range of survey solutions has recently been extended with the addition of a Leica Pegasus:Two Mobile Mapping System.
The market leading Leica Pegasus:Two system enables the rapid and simultaneous collection of both high-resolution panoramic imagery and high density point cloud data from a moving vehicle. The captured 3D geospatial data has far reaching uses across numerous sectors including road mapping and navigation, waterways, emergency response planning, plus street, highways and utilities infrastructure and asset management.
Showcased by Geosense at the recent INTERGEO geoinformation trade show in Berlin in September, the Leica Pegasus:Two Mobile Mapping System coupled with Geosense’s extensive survey experience and processing capabilities, received a lot of interest particularly from survey and transportation organisations.
The Pegasus Two enables Geosense to carry out high quality, extensive topographical surveys, with no traffic management required which significantly reduces the risk to staff. This means the survey can be carried out in less time and at a fraction of the cost of a tradition survey. In addition, as the Leica software is designed to work seamlessly with the hardware, the data can be processed extremely efficiently and the extraction can be carried out directly into ESRI through Leica’s MapFactory. This means stakeholders can start making decisions on the data quicker than before.
“In conjunction with our aerial survey capabilities, Geosense is in the position to offer our client’s across Southern Africa the latest in mobile mapping technology to assist with planning decisions for the future, whether this be for asset management, or large-scale transportation, utility and infrastructure projects ”.Matt Murphy, Managing Director, Geosense
