Mining

Africa is home to 1.2 billion people  (up from just 477 million in 1980) and, according to the UN, by the year 2050 the total population will have doubled to 2.4 billion. To sustain such a huge increase in population requires investment in infrastructure, mining, utilities and telecommunications.  An increase in population coupled with the growth in urbanisation is driving growth in all market sectors who in turn will demand additional and more detailed geospatial information. Using the latest data capture, processing and delivery processes, Geosense is well positioned to provide geospatial services efficiently.

South Africa's economic growth has been and will continue to be closely linked to the fortunes of the mining industry. Accurate and up to date geospatial and remote sensing data is seen as a critical asset for all of those operating in the sector. Geosense is an established provider of aerial imagery and LiDAR survey data to the mining industry.

Utilities

Africa faces a huge electricity demand challenge.Geosense specialises in the delivery of powerline and corridor mapping surveys for the utility sector, providing aerial photography, mapping, height and LiDAR data to help utility companies manage their work, their workforce, and their network assets.

Municipalities

South Africa’s urban population is growing larger and younger‚ and by 2050 nearly 80% of SA’s total population will be living in an urban area. Geosense works closely with municipalities to provide accurate and up to date survey data - we currently provide oblique aerial imagery the 5 biggest metros in South Africa.

Agriculture

The South African agriculture sector has historically been one of the strongest on the continent and Geosense has a long-standing track record of surveying across the region.
